The grand yearly festival known as Comic-Con began as a small, humble gathering of comic book fans in San Diego, California. Over the years, it’s expanded worldwide to include fans of TV, movies, novels, and video games. Far from solely being the domain of “nerds” and “geeks”, it’s an all-inclusive affair that allows fandoms of various ages to celebrate their favorite heroes and villains. Join the fun– immerse yourself in these photo galleries of this year’s Comic-Con in Sydney, Australia!

Deadpool, the wisecracking, gunslinging smartmouth of the Marvel Universe, dresses as Santa to bring weapons to all the good little kiddies (or is it the bad little kiddies?).
The Punisher wages his one-man, gun-toting war against organized crime… and when he’s done, he heads to the Comic-Con cafe for a refreshing cold soda.
Psylocke, Cyclops, Star-Lord, Captain America, and Black Widow
Punk Spider-Man (or Spider-Punk, as he prefers to be called) shreds it on the Nintendo dancing stage.
Captain America? When did you get this… well… pretty?
The most detailed, intricate costume seen at this year’s Comic-Con: Mystique from X-Men.
Beast, Rogue, and Gambit from X-Men

Black Panther, straight outta Wakanda (and in about a year’s time, straight onto our movie screens in the next Captain America movie). Now if only Marvel would give this underappreciated, highly intriguing superhero a movie of his own…
Here’s another overlooked, undervalued superhero: Hawkeye from The Avengers. He may not have superpowers or fancy gadgets, but who needs those when one has crazy-mad fighting skills, deadly accuracy, and catlike agility?
Hawkeye is locked, loaded, and ready to rock!
I applaud the attention and effort that went into this costume: Baymax from Big Hero 6.
The Scarecrow from Batman Begins
Hellboy and Supergirl
V from “V for Vendetta”, with his impressive array of throwing knives
Batgirl spreads her wings
Two dangerous ladies in black: Black Widow and Catwoman
Stormtroopers from Star Wars
Cantina musicians from the Star Wars films
Princess Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars, displaying their lightsaber expertise
Princess Leia in her slave girl outfit form the third Star Wars movie, Return of the Jedi
Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service
Vegeta from Dragonball Z
Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers
Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit, with his favorite pipe
Daenerys, Queen of Dragons from Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark accosts Cersei Lannister, and tries very hard to refrain from sticking her with Needle’s pointy end.
“Hey, boys! How’d you like to sit on THIS throne?” Cersei flashes some leg!
Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish and Varys enlist the services of Arya Stark as their personal paparazzi.
A Stark on the Iron Throne? Why not?
Finally reunited: half-siblings Jon Snow and Arya Stark.
An unlikely (but potentially very entertaining) team-up Kick-Ass and Arya Stark
Varys decides to quit the life of a court whisperer and start caving in some skulls.
Littlefinger similarly gets fed up with royal intrigues, and walks The Way of the Giant Mallet. … Hang on, what’s with this giant mallet, anyway?
Mystery solved: the mallet belongs to Ramona Flowers from comic book series Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

And of course, where Rocket Raccoon is, his faithful buddy Groot isn’t far behind.

This portrait of Audrey Hepburn is made entirely of Lego.
Just like the previous portrait, this Wonder Woman portrait is made from Lego as well.
This Lego artwork is absolute genius. When you look at it from this side, the picture shows Princess Peach from the Super Mario game series…
… but when you look at the same picture from this angle, you find yourself staring at Mario’s arch-nemesis, Bowser Koopa.
Where can you find Pikachu hawking soft-serve ice creams in the evening: at Comic-Con, of course!
